Taliesin

imageNumerous times my throat tightened and my eyes moistened as the space that surrounded me embraced the emotions of my soul.

I “get” Frank Lloyd Wright. I understand his passion to mold emotion into space and to bring outside in. I understand his discomfort when harmony is misaligned: the flow of exterior and interior separate…not one.

In my next life I am going to go to school here; at Mr. Wright’s school of architecture. It is the smallest recognized school of its kind in America.  You live on site: inside the walls of Taliesin…. I belong here… 100515

I had a wonderful peaceful walk around the lake tonight talking to the “fire flies”. Their flickering presence dancing randomly around me felt like magic caressing the air. Each year I wait impatiently for their return. Each year during the month of July they magically return to say hello and share their graceful light with me.

Embracing the season…. IMG_1277Preparing for our traditional grilled ribs, beans and cold-slaw feast with family and neighbors.  Too rainy and cold to be outside but still a wonderful celebration of food, wine, conversation and whiff’s of lilac in the air.
