The Babushka sisters arrived from
Leelanau this afternoon to spend the holiday weekend with us.
A little later Uncle Fanny arrived… He was not doing so well. His drive left him extremely dehydrated.
We immediately began to serve our family’s traditional cocktails; Natural light beer and shots of Papa John’s. Papa John’s is a mixture invented many years ago by my father’s dad; Grandpa John. It is a combination of whisky/simple sugar/water and oranges. It became a family holiday tradition.
In no time flat; after a “Papa” for each leg and each arm, Uncle Fanny was table polka-dancing like his old wonderful self.
