We had the opportunity to dine on a farm in downtown Detroit with 170 new friends this summer….farm to table. Location: Food Field…an abandoned elementary school on Lawrence street in downtown Detroit converted into a vibrant bountiful farm in 2011. Sarah Welch, chef at Marrow, an award winning Detroit restaurant convinced the organization “Outstanding in the Field” to come to Food Field to hold a dining event where she created a wonderful multi-course, wine-paired dining experience. This organization seeks out extraordinary venue’s throughout the country and are now going international.
